Just an update on the Lovely Morgana Davies.
She Finished up the year with straight HDs at school and with rave reviews in the US for her major guest role in the Terra Nova TV series. She is currently in the US and has had various meetings in Holywood.
To top the year off she is nominated in the US for Best Actress for her role in THE TREE at the Chambie Awards (the US childrens Oscars), cross your fingers on 4th January 2012 for that one.
She has also been nominated for best supporting actress for her role as SAS in THE HUNTER. Last year she was the youngest person ever nominated for a lead role and the only one ever to be nominated for both the young actor award and a lead role.
This year the AFIs have evolved to the Australian Academy Awards (AACTA) and there is no young actor award bringing it inline with the American version. But Morgana is now the only child actor to be nominated in back to back awards.
In the opening night of the judging the president of the Academy on stage with Morgana said "many people ask me how do I get my movie to open the awards judging, The answer is simple have Morgana Davies in your movie".
THE TREE opened the Judging in 2010 and THE HUNTER in 2011. Keep your fingers crossed on 30th January and watch it on channel 9 live from the Opera House.
Morgana Recently was a guest presenter at the peoples Choice IF Awards. She presented an award to RED DOG (the actual dog) and she was amazing and stol the show.
Finally she also did a short film this year, her own choice for artistic reasons and that film is released on the 9th January in the Australian short film festival in Sydney (Bondi Beach), it is called Julian. It was a logistic nightmare to get her from Terra Nova to Julian and back again (& the Americans were not happy) - but she did it and loved it and did well in each (Mum & Dad are another story).
Please pass this on to the great people and friends Morgana made when she was in Kalbar & Boonha.
We will get back to the white room one day.

Hi Sara,
Love the Fasifern Valley and those glorious mountains in the distance. Drove through Kalbar on Saturday and wondered where "the tree" was; does Margaret allow photographers in to photograph her famous tree?
Cheers, May.
